LSUSD faculty and students are enjoying the newly renovated student preclinical labs. The renovations were only possible because some of our alumni and friends saw the need and acted selflessly to help make it happen.
After years of planning and raising the funds necessary to make the new labs a reality, the result is nothing short of spectacular. The renovation is open, state-of-the-art, and offers a learning environment that is second to none. The $8.2 million renovation, which encompasses the entire 7th floor of the E.E. Jeansonne Clinic Building, includes two pre-clinical labs, a wet laboratory and a large classroom. Due to private donations of $3.2 million by our alumni and friends, the school was awarded a $4.2 million grant from the state and the remainder of the project was funded by the LSU Health Sciences Center.
There are many more naming opportunities available and it is our hope that more contributors will step forward to support the project. All funds raised from this point forward will be deposited evenly into an expendable account and an endowed fund to ensure the preclinical laboratories will remain in excellent condition for years to come.
