As Louisiana’s federally designated University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), the Human Development Center (HDC) serves as a resource to people with developmental disabilities, families, service providers, educators, and policy-makers. HDC's mission is to build capacity and inspire change to ensure that people with disabilities are able to participate fully in all aspects of community life. We do this through four initiative areas:

1. Early Childhood
2. Education (Grades K-12)
3. Transition, Employment, Careers
4. Interdisciplinary Training
