Addressing the needs of LSU Health New Orleans’ medical students and medical residents in times of crises. Medical residents, many of whom work long hours with minimal pay, form the backbone of patient care in New Orleans. As Orleans and Jefferson Parishes led the state of Louisiana with COVID cases these individuals stepped up to the frontlines, often putting their own lives at risk. Funds will go to addressing the physiological and psychological needs of our medical trainees during times of crises and the LSU Health School of Medicine Emergency Fund to assist students with need-based financial support to afford immediate, essential expenses during crises.
